WHEELING - At 67 years old, St. Clairsville resident Stephen Clark has no plans of slowing down when it comes to road racing.

Clark competed in 5K Walk presented by Bordas & Bordas on Saturday morning during the annual Ogden Newspapers Wellness Weekend presented by WVU Medicine.

He said that he's competed in several half marathons, but is backing off a little bit by competing in the 5K walk.

"It’s a great event, and it’s a great way to showcase our city and our region, and always a great time with a lot of great people out," Clark said. "I hope we have good weather and a safe run for all participants."

He added that he has been competing in races for more than 20 years and continues to do so because it is challenging.

He said that his birthday is soon but turning 68 will not deter him from competing next year and beyond.

"It makes you eat better and train because you have to stay in shape," Clark said. "As soon as I finish one, I like to sign up for the next one."
