Five people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon after storm winds blew over a large tent outside the West Virginia University baseball game at Kendrick Family Ballpark, injuring several people.

In a statement released Saturday evening, WVU said five people were transported from the area and taken to the hospital following the incident. The university was in touch with healthcare providers in the area to make sure those injured were supported in their recovery.

The tent stood in a parking lot adjacent to Kendrick Family Ballpark and the tent’s collapse came during a rain delay created by the storms that hit the area.
