Scripture Earns Spot On State Journal Generation Next List
WHEELING — Lindsey Scripture, vice president of commercial strategy at Oglebay Park Resort, has been named to The State Journal’s Generation Next: 40 Under 40 list, an annual recognition honoring emerging leaders making significant contributions to their industries and communities across West Virginia.
Scripture was recognized for her leadership in transforming Oglebay’s brand identity, marketing strategy and guest experience initiatives while helping position the resort for continued growth and increased national visibility.
Since assuming her role, Scripture has overseen a comprehensive rebranding effort that included the launch of a redesigned website, development of a new visual identity, implementation of employee brand training programs, creation of updated photography assets and introduction of a refreshed uniform program.
Those efforts and others earned Oglebay the 2025 Tourism Project of the Year Award from the West Virginia Department of Tourism and helped secure national recognition from organizations and publications including USA Today, Good Housekeeping, Newsweek and the World Travel Awards.
“Lindsey is an exceptional leader whose vision, creativity and commitment to excellence have helped shape the future of Oglebay,” said Bob Peckenpaugh, president and CEO of the Wheeling Park Commission. “She has built a talented team, elevated our brand to new heights and challenged all of us to think bigger about what Oglebay can become.”
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Scripture has spent more than a decade serving the Junior League of Wheeling, including a term as president. She is also actively involved in mentoring young professionals and advocating for the advancement of women in hospitality leadership.
Scripture said she was honored to be recognized alongside other young leaders across the state.
“This award reflects the collective efforts of an amazing team that embraces innovation, collaboration and a shared commitment to excellence,” she said. “I remain committed to helping develop future leaders while continuing to elevate Oglebay and the hospitality industry throughout our state.”
