An investigation is being conducted into an alleged murder in Weirton.
Weirton Police Chief Charlie Kush announced a warrant for first degree murder has been issued for David Barger, 69, of Weirton, following the death of his wife, Donna Barger.
Officers were dispatched to 3931 Grant St. at approximately 2:24 p.m. Tuesday for a welfare check requested by a family member, according to Kush. Upon arrival, officers discovered Donna Barger, 70, deceased inside the home.
David Barger was also in the home having a medical emergency. He was treated by medical personnel at the scene and then flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, with no further details available.
