WELLSBURG - A Brooke High School principal has been suspended as part of an investigation into the alleged placement of a recording device in one of the locker rooms at the school.
According to a statement released by the school district Thursday morning, officials were informed Wednesday afternoon of a criminal investigation involving the alleged recording devices.
School security officers, central office staff and local law enforcement located and removed the devices, with Superintendent Jeffrey Crook removing the principal from the school and suspending him from employment pending additional information.
School officials are meeting with students, parents, and staff Thursday to offer supportive measures while the investigation continues.
