Man Wanted in Pa. Arrested Following Pursuit from Marshall County into Ohio

MOUNDSVILLE — A suspect wanted by the Monroeville Police Department in Pennsylvania was taken into custody following a vehicle pursuit that began in Marshall County and ended in Belmont County, Ohio, according to Marshall County Sheriff Mike Dougherty.
At 1:55 p.m. Wednesday, Marshall County 911 received a request from the Monroeville Police Department to be on the lookout for a purple Dodge Charger displaying Texas registration plates. Monroeville police identified the driver as 36-year-old Delta Martel McPipe and advised that he was wanted on charges of felony strong-arm robbery and violent domestic battery.
Dispatch further advised that Monroeville police were tracking the vehicle as it traveled toward Glen Dale on W.Va. 86. Marshall County deputies located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, Dougherty said. The driver refused to stop and continued north on W.Va. 2, traveled through Wheeling, and crossed into Ohio.
After several minutes of attempting to evade law enforcement, the driver crashed on the ramp from Interstate 470 to Ohio 7 in Belmont County, Dougherty said. McPipe was subsequently taken into custody in connection with the charges reported by Monroeville police.
McPipe also faces numerous traffic-related charges in both West Virginia and Ohio stemming from the pursuit.
Dougherty praised the coordination and professionalism of the agencies involved: the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, West Virginia State Police, Glen Dale Police Department, McMechen Police Department, Benwood Police Department, Ohio County Sheriff's Office, Wheeling Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Belmont County Sheriff's Office, and Bridgeport Police Department.
"This incident demonstrates the importance of law enforcement agencies working together across county and state lines," Dougherty said. "I commend every agency involved for their professionalism, communication, and teamwork in bringing this pursuit to an end and taking a suspect wanted for violent offenses into custody for the Monroeville Police Department.
