U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito has been re-elected to her third term in the United States Senate.
Capito, a Glen Dale native, held a comfortable lead in early results over challenger Rachel Fetty Anderson.
"I am humbled by the trust my fellow West Virginians have placed in me to continue fighting for our state in the U.S. Senate and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our people. From the beginning, this campaign has been focused on listening to West Virginians about the concerns most important to them and coming together to bring those voices to Washington. That mission will never change, and I am more energized than ever to continue delivering for our state. I am thankful for the energy, effort, time, and votes that many West Virginians put forward to make this victory possible. Together, we are dedicated to achieving the success that we know is possible for West Virginia, preserving the values that make our state special, and securing a brighter future for our families, workers, and children. Let's continue the good work," Capito said.
