ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Josh Meyer will return to work next year at the Belmont County Courthouse, but this time as county auditor. Meyer, a former county commissioner, won the Republican nomination for auditor after receiving the most votes in Tuesday's primary election. Unofficial Election Night totals show him receiving 3,688 votes, besting incumbent County Auditor Cindi L. Henry, who captured 3,177. MARTINS FERRY — Belmont County Prosecutor Kevin Flanagan of Bellaire defeated Michael P. McCormick of Bethesda in the 2026 Belmont County Republican primary for Court of Common Pleas judge. Flanagan received 3,095 votes, while McCormick received 1,050. He will replace current Common Pleas Judge John Vavra, whose term expires at the end of 2026. Flanagan will leave his position as county prosecutor to be sworn into his new role. NEW YORK (AP) — The U.S. stock market rose to records Tuesday after oil prices eased and companies kept reporting bigger profits for the start of the year than analysts expected.
