ROBERT HILL

Robert Joseph Hill, 79, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, in U.P.M.C. Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Bob was born February 21, 1941, in Wheeling, a son of the late Harold and Clara (Habig) Hill. He was a CCHS graduate; retired from Mutual Wholesalers of Wheeling; worked at Wheeling Flower Shop and Altmeyer Funeral Homes; and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He was also a Friend of a Legionnaire at the American Legion, Blake Bros. Post No.46, Benwood; a member of the Croatian Club, Benwood; and past member of the Teamsters Local No. 697, Wheeling.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two sons, Christopher and Brian Hill; a brother, Ronald Hill; and a sister, Beverly Hill Douglas.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen (Reed) Hill; five children, Nicole (Kevin) Stingle of Wheeling, Craig (Mary) Hill of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Marcie (Todd) Lucas of Shaw Air Force Base, SC, Paula (Trey) McDonald of Wake Forest, NC, and Deneen (Michael) Watson of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; eight grandchildren; Christopher's son, Derek Hill, Emily and Brock Watson, Anna, Owen and Sara McDonald, and Caeden and Cooper Lucas; two step-grandchildren, Evan Stingle and Anna Hillman; a great-grandson, Brentley Hill; three nephews, Curt "Sam" Fair, Kevin (Christina) Reed and Doug (Sarah) Reed.

At the request of Bob's family, and in the interest of the community's continued well-being and safety, visitation will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at a date and time to be determined. Interment will then follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
