MORTON BROOKS SMITH JR
Morton Brooks Smith, Jr., age 81, of Compass Drive, Elizabeth City, NC died on October 22, 2020 at his home. He was born in Paden City, WV on May 23, 1939 to the late Morton Brooks Smith and Miriam Phyllis Henderson Smith, and was the husband of Connie Lewis Smith for sixty-one years. Brooks served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy and then went on to be a production supervisor for thirty-two years until his retirement from Bayer Corp. He was a devoted member of the First Christian Church Elizabeth City. He was a good golfer and enjoyed fishing. Brooks was a loving husband, father, sibling, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two daughters, Terresa Shia (Tim) of Wheeling, WV, and Julie Smith of Naples, FL; three sons, Jeff Smith (Brenda) of Chesapeake, VA, Steve Smith (Marie) of Atlanta, GA, Daniel Smith (Kristi) of Latrobe, PA; three sisters, Sue Adcock (Bill) of Paden City, WV, Cheryl Olson of Deland, FL, and Patricia Smith of Paden City, WV; one brother, Joe Smith (Kathy) of St. Marys, WV; thirteen grandchildren, Miranda, Timmy, Desiree, Steven, Zac, Cody, Tyler, Ashley, Haley, T.J., Shannon, Brady, and Morgan; and four great-grandchildren, Henleigh, M.J., Layla, and Kieran.
No service is planned at this time.
