HAROLD EIGHME

Harold “Hap” Richard Eighme, 74, of Martins Ferry, Ohio died Friday, May 7, 2021 in Wheeling Hospital with family by his side.

He was born to parents Joseph and Geraldine Eighme, on February 9, 1947 in Bridgeport, Ohio. Harold graduated from Bridgeport High School and received bachelor’s degree in education from Miami of Ohio where he played football.

He is survived by his son, Shane Eighme and wife Andrea, his daughter, Shaye Pentino and her husband Alex, and his sister Gale Regal and her husband, Bob. He has 5 grandchildren, Dakota, Davis, Eliana, Vanessa, and Gunner. Hap was predeceased in death by parents Joseph and Geraldine Eighme.

Hap was a former teacher and coach at Bellaire St. John’s and St. Clairsville High School. He was known for his love of football and he inflicted his love of football on all who knew him. An avid Ohio State and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he loved to watch, root for, and analyze his teams and was overjoyed when they had winning seasons. He was also a talented fisherman and enjoyed nothing more than fishing at Piedmont Lake.

A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend James Hoff officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be in support of The American Heart Association, 300 S. Riverside Plaza Ste 1200, Chicago, IL 60606-6637 in his memory.
