George William Boyd, 89, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Trinity West in Steubenville, OH.
He was born December 28, 1931, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late George and Alta Sampson Boyd.
George was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean War and retired as a Control Operator for the former Bayer Corporation. He was a protestant by faith.
He enjoyed being a regular blood donor when he was able to, crossword puzzles, traveling with his wife, Marge, taking walks at Oglebay Park & seeing all his dog friends, and watching golf & "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives".
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Virginia Purvis Boyd.
George is survived by his 4 daughters, Patricia M. Boyd, Debra L. Chase, Linda L. Boyd & Carol A. Morgan; 1 brother, Allan (Linda Campbell) Boyd; 1 sister, Shirley Martin; 4 grandchildren, Annie (Bill) Haynes, Sarah (Christopher) Wyckoff, Jessie Helfer & Josh (Abby) Helfer; 4 great-grandchildren, Kendall Haynes, Levi Haynes, Avery Wyckoff & Maddie Wyckoff; many nieces & nephews; and his beloved grand dog, Boo.
Friends will be received on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 4-7 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (304-242-2311) where services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021, at 11 AM with Reverend Robert P. Nagy officiating. Entombment will follow in Park View Memorial Gardens.
