Devoted husband and wife who could not live without each other will now share a joint funeral.
Robert" Midge" Jones, 84, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at his home in Wheeling, WV.
Robert was born October 19, 1937 in McMechen, WV to mother Alice "Haught" Jones and father Pete Jones.
Patricia "Theresa" Jones-Davis, 67, died Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Wheeling Hospital.
Patricia was born May 16, 1954 to mother Emma Jean Remias and father Donald Davis, and stepfather William Paul Remias.
Robert and Patricia were the definition of true love. Patricia wasworking as a waitress whem they first met at Elby's Big Boy in Wheeling, WV.
Robert wa a long-time employee with Wheeling Corrugating Company in Beach Bottom.
The two were each other's lifelong companions, soon to be sharing what would have been 50 years of marriage.
Both shared a love for God, their three dogs and spending time with family and friends.
You may remember Robert as former Councilman Jones, and for his dedicated work as "The Agent," helping many with his political involvement.
Patricia for many years served in the Marshall County Assessor's office under former Assessor Christopher J. Kessler.
Both Robert and Patricia were long-time members of Saint James Church in McMechen, WV.
Robert is survived by his children: Alice Derrow, Robert (Ann) Jones, David Jones, and Sherri Kessler; grandchildren, Ernie Ward, Chaz Fulton, Tyler and Brook Derrow, Nicholas and Logan Jones, David (Brittany) Jones, Lexi Jones, Ashley and Arthur Lightner; seven great- grandchildren; brothers, Jerry and David Jones; sisters, Susie "Petterson" Jones and Jo Ann Jones; and many, many friends.
Patricia is survived by her stepchildren, Alice Derrow, Robert (Ann) Jones, David Jones, and Sherri Kessler; grandchildren, Ernie Ward, Chaz Fulton, Tyler and Brook Derrow, Nicholas and Logan Jones, David (Brittany) Jones, Lexi Jones, Ashley and Arthur Lightner; seven great- grandchildren, brothers; Joseph Remias and William Paul Remias; sisters, Donna Baker and Kathy Davis.
Visitation Tuesday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to noon for family, and services to follow at noon at Altmeyer's, Benwood-Mcmechen chapel, 214 Marshall St., McMechen, WV.
Committal services to be held Tuesday, March 29, 1:30 p.m. at Mount Calvery Cemetery in Wheeling.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marshall County Animal Shelter.
