GEORGE FIGURAY JR.

George was born September 21, 1963, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late George Sr., and Pauline (Magnone) Figuray. He was a 1981 graduate of St. John’s Central H.S In Bellaire, Ohio.

George is survived by his wife Mary Ellen, sister Nancy (Gene) Murray, niece Jennifer (Aaron) Boughner, nephew James (Nathalie) Murray and 5 great nieces and nephews, James,Mackenzie, Holden, and Hallie Murray and Hayes Boughner, stepsons DJ and Justin Gardner, many loving relatives and friends.

George was 16 when he began working at Kroger’s in Martins Ferry and went on to become the co-owner of the Shadyside IGA. Later, after moving to Columbus, Ohio, George worked at Meijers, Budweiser Brewery, and UPS, retiring in 2017.

George was a devout Catholic, was an Euchaistic Minister, and did Prison Ministry, George was a tireless and selfless volunteer.

George eventually moved to Thornville, developed an interest in antiques and flea markets. George had M & G Furniture Store & More at the Amish Flea Market in Walnut Creek, Ohio. George had made many friends througtout his life that paid their respects during calling hours at the Tidd Funeral Home in Hilliard, Ohio, where many stories were shared with his family.

What a beautiful difference one single life made…….thank you for the life we shared.

George’s wish was to be cremated and buried at Holly Memorial Gardens. His service was held at the convenience of the family with Pastor James Monogioudis officiating.
