Robert Lee "Bob" Boord Sr., 87, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at Wheeling Hospital – WVU.
He was born in Wheeling, May 26, 1934, a son of the late Charles and Minetta (Rigot) Boord. Bob was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where he assisted in starting bingo, the fair and the fish fry. He was a US Army Veteran and a life long accountant. Bob was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Victor, Nelson and Cecil Boord.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Hannah (Dotson) Boord; four children, Brittany Boord, Robert L. (Carolyn) Boord Jr., Robin Boord and Ryan (Erin Fankhauser) Boord; two grandchildren, Sam and Jackson Boord; his previous wife, Sharon Pritchard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 4-7 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St. Liturgy of the word will be celebrated Thursday, April 14 at 10 am at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Carlos Melocoton officiating. Entombment will be held at Parkview Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund or Helping Heroes in C/O www.tmcfunding.com or to the donors choice.
