ROBERT KLINGER

He was born July 2, 1952, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Robert P. and Bernice Welch Klinger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Lynn Ross Klinger on 4/29/21; and a sister, Leigh Ann Kilpatrick.

Robert was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Navy as a Hull Technician and went on to retire from the U.S. Navy. He also worked for Local 83 Plumber & Steam Fitters Union and gave ham radio licensing tests.

He was a member of the New Life United Methodist Church, where he was very active. He was also active in the Boy Scouts & Ham Radio Clubs with his call sign being WD8MTN.

Robert liked to stay busy, travel, go to yard sales, and he loved trains.

He is survived by 4 children, Roxanne Marie (David) Soto of PA, Roland Edward (Robin) Klinger of NC, Robert Charles (Michelle) Klinger of WV & Roger William (Jessica) Klinger of WV; 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM and on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 1 PM until the time of service at 2 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (#304-242-2311) with Reverend April Forkey officiating and the Moundsville Veteran Honor Guard performing military honors.
