Retta J. Wayne, age 99 of Marietta, OH, formerly of Moundsville, WV died Thursday, January 26, 2023 in Harmer Place, Marietta, OH.
She was born January 10, 1924 in Moundsville, WV the daughter of the late Clarence Lakin and Hazel Jane Maxwell Woods.
She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church; a secretary at the former Fostoria Glass; a former Librarian at Moundsville High School; and former Attendance Secretary at Moundsville Jr. High School; a member of CEO's (Homemaker's), a former 4-H member and Torchbearer through 4-H.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson E. Wayne; two brothers, Raymond and J.W. Woods; and three sisters, Eileen Hupp, Ruth Brown, and Lois Dowler.
Survivors include a son, Eugene (Ruth) Wayne of Newton, MA; a daughter, Mary Ellen (Bob) VanCamp of Marietta; three grandchildren, Hannah Wayne, Bethany (Ben) Richetti, and Will (Karee Anderson) VanCamp; three great-grandchildren, Simon, Hazel, and Elora Richetti; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville.
Visitation and Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Moundsville from 10am until time of Service at 11am with Rev. Don Rush officiating.
Interment in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Moundsville.
