Roy V. Shreves, 85, of Moundsville died Saturday, January 21, 2023 in WVU-Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 13, 1937, in Sistersville, the son of the late James Arthur and Flossie Belle Rutter Shreves.
Roy graduated Sistersville High School in 1955; he was a PGA golf professional and greens superintendent at Moundsville Country Club for 37 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Arthur, Homer, Herbert, Raymond, Bernard, and Eugene Shreves; four sisters, Carolyn Davis, Betty Louise Shreves, Ruth Billiter, Kathaleen Lough.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Helen Winters Shreves; one son, Jeff Shreves of Groveport, OH; one daughter, Brenda (Larry) Dobbs of St. Clairsville, OH; one sister, May Rea of Sistersville; two grandchildren, Kayla Bopp, Kaitlyn Shreves; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family deeply thanks WVU Reynolds staff and nurses in the ICU for the care given to Roy.
Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, Moundsville.
