DAVID BENNER

David A. Benner, age 89 of Moundsville, WV died Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV.

He was born February 8, 1934 in Sistersville, WV the son of the late Alice Benner Stout.

He was a Korean War Air Force Veteran; a retired mechanic from Ohio Power; a former greeter with Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory; a member of Simpson United Methodist Church, where he was an usher; a member of Marshall Union Lodge #8 AF&AM, where he was a past Master; a member of Scottish Rite, Royal Arch Masons, Knights of Templer, Osiris Shriner, Miriam Chapter #1 and Moundsville Eastern Star Chapter #86, where he was past Patron of both; a member of American Legion Post #3; and a past member of the Moundsville Jaycee's and Glen Dale Lion's Club.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-father, James A. Stout.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Rebecca "Becky" Wiley Benner; a son, Matt (Christy) Benner of Moundsville; a daughter, Pamela (Larry Pemberton) Johnson of Vienna, WV; three grandchildren, Kylie Johnson of Vienna, Max Benner of Moundsville, and Sheldon Johnson of Vienna; and a great-grandson, Onyx Treadway.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:30pm with Pastor Annette Carper officiating.

Entombment in Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum, Moundsville.
