Grace "Sue" Jane Wright Johnson, 73, of Benwood, WV, died Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Stonerise Moundsville.
She was born November 3, 1949, in Steubenville OH, the daughter of the late Alvin and Margaret Miller Wright
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, David Burton Johnson; and brother, Gerry "Ink" Wright.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Johnson of Charleston WV; granddaughter, Sophia; brother, Floyd Wright of Toronto, OH; and her sisters, Bonnie (Blaine) Freeman of Steubenville, OH and Joyce (Jeff) Harris of Toronto, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As a child, Grace was an avid horsewoman and participated in horse shows. Grace was a member of the Pleasant Hill UMC, Wheeling, WV and the Marshall County CEO's (formerly WVU Extension Services). In addition, she volunteered at the 4th Street Food Pantry in Wheeling. Most importantly, even on her worst day, she would never say "no" to a trip to the Goodwill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 4th Street Food Pantry, Wheeling.
Friends and family will be received Monday, February 20, 2023 from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Rankin officiating.
