Lawrence "Larry" R. Dixon, 81, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born January 19, 1942, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Lawrence R. and Lucy Virginia (Gibson) Dixon.
He was a former Draftsman and a Presbyterian by faith.
Larry had a huge heart and would take care of anyone in need. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back. His passion in life was his antique custom cars. He also enjoyed fireworks and gardening; he was the best tomato grower.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Michelle (Dixon) Meyer (Jeffrey) & Chris Dixon (John); brother, James M. Dixon (Mary); 3 grandchildren, Tiffany (Jordan), Denny (Lauren) & Aiden; 5 great-grandchildren, Brady, Maisie, Paityn, Austin & Alice; and 2 nephews, Stephen (Emily) & Brian (Lindsey).
Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Homes, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV (#304-242-2311) where services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 11 AM with Rev. Margie Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling, WV.
