Neil Douglas Patterson Sr., 90, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in Mooresville, NC.
He was born December 7, 1932, in Power, WV, the son of Zane Garrett and Alma Ritchie Patterson.
He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1950, where he played football and ran track. He worked 43 years for AEP starting in Power, WV and transferring to Kammer Plant in Moundsville. He was a U.S. Marine Sgt. during the Korean Conflict and a Christian by faith.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Leonard; brother, Lynn; wife, Anne Caldwell; and stepdaughter, Pam.
He is survived by his three children, Doug (Teri) of Wheeling, Clark (Missy) of Rotunda, West FL, Julie (Doug) Simmons of Mooresville, NC; stepchildren, Rusty, Rob, Dean Caldwell, Penni Nippert and Pat Binni; sister, Joanne (Clyde) Zonker of Summerfield, FL; four granddaughters, Alexa, Deidra, Jalah, and Zarah; two great grandchildren, Zayne and Laynie; numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, February 3, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-277- 2722) where services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rodney Hubbs officiating.
Moundsville Veteran Honor Guard will conduct military services.
Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV.
