Richard (Rick) Neuhardt passed away Friday February 10, 2023 at the age of 64.
Rick was born July 22, 1958 in Wheeling, WV. the son of the late Charles F. Neuhardt and Willa A. Gordon Neuhardt.
He graduated from Wheeling High School in 1976, and received a degree in biology from West Liberty State College. He worked as a chemist for a number of years in both West Virginia and Ohio.
Rick had a passion for snakes and other reptiles, which he raised and bred throughout his life. His greatest joy was his son Zane, born in 2003.
Rick is survived by his son Zane Gordon Neuhardt of Westerville, OH; brothers Robert (Cathy) Neuhardt of Ormond Beach, FL and Charles (Jackie) Neuhardt of Wheeling, WV; a sister Rebecca (Bob) Lester of Ormond Beach, FL.
Arrangements for burial will be scheduled at a later date in Wheeling.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice in Columbus, Ohio or to Christ Lutheran Church in Wheeling, WV.
Local arrangements are being handled by Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling.
