Robert Wayne Haney, 70, of Wheeling, passed away Friday February 10th, 2023 peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on August 26th, 1952, in Rochester PA. He was the son of the late George S and Margie Rowe Haney.
In addition to his parents, Bob was proceeded in death by his infant son, Matthew Haney and his brother, Bill Haney.
Bob graduated from Warwood High School in 1971. He went on to work at Warwood Armature for 43 years. He retired as the Safety Director and self proclaimed "nerve center of Warwood Armature." Bob was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and the Warwood Vets. He also served for many years in the volunteer fire service, where he introduced both of his sons to their future careers. Bob ended his fire service career with the Clearview Volun- teer Fire Department, where he served as Chief. He also enjoyed his retirement job working with his sons at Sport Your Colors in Warwood.
Most importantly, Bob was a loving Husband, Dad and Pap Pap. He was the life of the party with his contagious laugh and hip dance moves. Bob could be found on most mornings cuddling with his grand- children while watching cowboys on TV.
Surviving is his loving wife of 40 years, Trish Haney of Wheeling, WV; sons, Christopher W. Haney and Michael S. (Kelli) Haney, both of Wheeling, WV; adopted daughter Elaine Pavlic of Wheeling, WV; sister Donna (David) Kendzerski, sister- in-law Darlene Haney and brother Denny Haney, all of Wheeling, WV; brother-in- law Joe (Pam) Hartman of Wheeling, WV and bother-in-law- Mike (Patty) Hartman of St. Clairsville, OH; five grandchildren, R.J. Haney, Grant Michael and Greyson Robert Haney, Derek and Emily Pavlic; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday February 17th, 2023, from 2:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 5:00 pm at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel – 2101 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003.
The Haney family would like to thank the staff at WVU Cancer Institute for their guidance, support and care of Bob. We would also like to thank all of our friends and family for their support during this difficult time.
