Betty Lee Kachalo, age 95, of Moundsville, WV died Wednesday, March 8, 2023.
She was born March 15, 1927 in Wheeling, WV the daughter of the late Raymond "Pick" and Georgia Mercer Gillespie.
She was a Protestant by faith; a former employee of The Moundsville Echo, having worked for 26 years; and a former member of the Moundsville Housing Authority and Moundville Garden Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George A. "Possum" Kachalo; a son-in-law, Nathan Schweitzer; a brother, Jerry "Pick" Gillespie; a sister, Mary Ann Dempsey; and a sister-in-law, Maggie Commo.
Survivors include a daughter, Toni Ann DeNatale Schweitzer of Moundsville; a grandson, John D. (Chrissy) DiNatale; a granddaughter, Jackie (Dominic) Groz; a brother, Robert (Rosalie) Gillespie of Benwood, WV; a sister, Geraldine Roth of Moundsville; a sister- in-law, Connie Gillespie of Moundsville; great-grandchildren, Gabriella (Ralph) Gowe, Jordan (Nick) Neal, Sheila Groz, and Max Groz; a great-grandchild, Collin Gowe;
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 17th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where services will be held Saturday, March 18 at 11 a.m.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
