Katherine Marie Karras, 63, of Wheeling, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 13, 2023.
She was born July 31, 1959, the daughter of the late George and Maria (Kyminas) Karras.
Kathy was a school teacher for Ohio County Schools; a member of St John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, Wheeling and President of the Local Chapter of the Ladies Philoptochos Society.
Surviving are a sister Tina Karras Kucera (Douglas) of Cape Coral, Florida; two nephews James N. Kucera and George G. Kucera (Tania) all of Cape Coral; great nieces and nephews Milla, Isaac, George Luca and Emma Lynn.
Friends will be received on Sunday March 19, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street Elm Grove, Wheeling. A Trisagion Service will be offered at 2:30 p.m. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023 at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, Wheeling with Father Demetrios Tsikouris officiating. Kathy will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery next to her loving parents. Following her interment, a luncheon celebrating Kathy's life will take place at the Hellenic Centre, St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church.
