Ralph Arlo West, 90, of Moundsville, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Belmont Manor, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
He was born August 18, 1932 in Glen Easton, the son of the late Fred and Lula (Smith) West.
Ralph was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service; a Veteran Corporal in the U.S. Army: loved deer hunting, fishing traveling and country music.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Ruby Jean (Gump) West, three brothers, a sister and a great grandson Kaden Blake.
Surviving are three children Daniel West (Brenda) of Glen Easton, Darrell West (Linda) of West Alexander and Debra Grimm of St. Clairsville; a brother Marvin Roy West (Bernice) of Medford Oregon: brother-in- law Louis Gump of Moundsville; sister- in-law Linda Henry of Florida; eight grandchildren Amy West, Jessica West, Heather Blake (Gerald), Kris West, Brandon Harris (Miranda), Levi West, Jason Hanket and Jenna Hanket; sixteen great-grandchildren; six great-great- grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave, Moundsville. Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct Military Services at 6 p.m. followed by funeral services with Mr. Mark Mason officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
