N. Ruth Sampson, 93, of Wheeling, West Virginia, died March 22, 2023, at Park Health Center, St. Clairsville. She was born on June 21, 1929, in Sardis, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clarence C. Lude and Clara Hoff Lude.
Ruth was a former employee of Howard Johnson's Restaurant/ Hotel and Beckett's Landscaping Garden Center.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wheeling. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening, crafting, and quilting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold E. Taylor; her second husband, Raymond L. Sampson; two brothers, Paul and Wilber Lude; two sisters, Florence Lallathin and Almeda Jean Lude.
She is survived by her two children, Sharon (James) Hyest and Robert Taylor; four granddaughters, Dr. Jennifer Hyest, Rebecca (Cory) Dueger, Lindi Taylor, and Laura Taylor; and three great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial visitation held at the Church of Christ, 1310 National Rd., Wheeling, West Virginia on Saturday, April 1st from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m.
Private Interment for family will follow in Plainview Church of Christ Cemetery in Woodsfield, Ohio.
