Sylvia May Alice Saffell Combs, age 89 of Moundsville, WV died Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in Forest Hill Heath Care Center, St. Clairsville, OH.
She was born May 1, 1933 in Moundsville, the daughter of the late Robert Clyde and Mary "Mildred" Wallace Saffell.
She was a retired secretary from Dr. Myers Eye Clinic; a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she was active in the choir and Altar Guild; and a self-taught artist who loved to paint.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Combs; and a sister, Roberta Rogerson.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Combs and Mary (Jim) Amedro, all of Moundsville; a brother, Jon (Carolyn) Saffell of Wheeling; grandchildren, Mike (Bri) Harveth, Lisa (Jamie) Metz, Matt (Jessica) Amedro, Chris (Kayla) Amedro, and Zach (Jonni Jo) Amedro; great-grand- children, Nevaeh Hess and Aleena Metz, Zara, Luke, and Gia Harveth, and Myla, Cade, Chase, Luke and Nate Amedro.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 5pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, Oak & Linden Avenues, Moundsville with Rev. Bruce Bevens officiating.
Private interment at the convenience of the family.
