Thomas J. Thompson, 91, of McMechen, WV passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
Thomas was born at North Wheeling Hospital to the late Joseph C. and Selma E. (Stahl) Thompson on July 12, 1931. He was a 1950 graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, a US Navy Veteran and a lifetime member of Elm Grove Eagles Arie 1891. Throughout his life, he enjoy hunting and fishing in Canada with his friends. Tom was a proud business owner, Thompson Roofing and Insulation, and served the residents of the Ohio Valley for many years.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife and partner, Shirley (Clutter) Thompson (2009); his son, Joseph C. Thompson (2019); and sister, Selma E. Hughes.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Beth Ann Baker of McMechen, WV; four (4) grandchildren and five (5) great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Monday, March 13, 2023 from 11 a.m. until noon, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, WV. A private funeral for immediate family will be at 12, noon with Pastor Mitch Johnson presiding.
