Milan Vosvick Jr., 83, of Elm Grove, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 14, 2023.
He was born on December 11, 1939, in Newell, PA, son of the late Milan and Helen Mygra Vosvick.
Milan devoted his life to youth and civic activities. While he spent countless years being active in the Elm Grove Lions Club, Elm Grove United Methodist Men, Wheeling Elks Lodge No. 28, OVAC High School Football official and Elm Grove Baseball, nothing could rival his passion for the Boy Scouts of America and Elm Grove Troop 29. Milan loved nothing more than to work with young scouts and guide them as they navigated their way through the requirements to the rank of Eagle Scout. He also participated in several National Jamborees throughout the United States, as well as serving on numerous committees and assisting in editing of the Boy Scout manual. He was also a member of the Elm Grove United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Milan was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Wells Vosvick; sister, Rita Jean Vosvick; granddaughter, Elizabeth Bonnie Kapalko; son-in-law, David Kapalko; and brother, David Vosvick.
He is survived by a sister, Thedosia "Teddy" Tarr; brother, Mark Vosvick; two daughters, Bonnie Michelle Vosvick and Rita Vosvick Kapalko; two sons, Milan Vosvick III and James Vosvick; five grandchildren, Dakotah Vosvick, Frank Kapalko, Josaphine Vosvick, Gaia Santop-Vosvick and Mila Vosvick.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-242-2311), where services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Deb Dague officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling. A luncheon will follow at Elm Grove United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elm Grove United Methodist Church, 125 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV 26003.
