PATRICIA OGLINSKY

Patricia Ann Oglinsky, 73, of Wheeling, West Virginia transitioned to eternal life on March 30, 2023.

Born on September 29, 1949, Pat, as she was affectionately known, was the daughter of Agnes Pearl (Sicosky) and Frank Michael Ziemba.

Pat was raised and grew up in Fairpoint, Ohio and was a 1967 graduate of Seton Central Catholic High School. Her compassionate nature led her to the field of nursing, and she graduated from Wheeling Hospital's School of Nursing. Her nursing career began at Wheeling Hospital, and she met the love of her life, Robert John Oglinsky, whom she wed on October 28, 1972.

Pat and Bob began their lives together in Wheeling, where they purchased their first home on East Cardinal Street, and welcomed their only child, Susan Katherine.

Moving to Fairfax County, Virginia in 1984, Pat's career continued in pediatric office nursing.

She was an avid gardener, loved to travel, enjoyed working crossword puzzles, and liked to experiment in the kitchen with international recipes with her husband. Her love of entertaining during the holiday's is passed on to her daughter.

In 2003, Pat and Bob decided to retire and move "home" to the Ohio Valley, purchasing their home on West Cardinal Avenue, just down the road from their first home.

Suffering through many long term illnesses, Pat is finally now at peace. Her family would like to thank Dr. William Mercer for never giving up on her, and for his compassionate care.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, her mother- in-law, Jenny (Szymnaska) and beloved father-in-law, August Oglinsky.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert John Oglinsky, her greatest achievement whom she loved endlessly, Susan Katherine Oglinsky, of Yorktown, Virginia, and her ever present dog, Ashley.

Her love of family extends to her surviving relatives, brothers, Frank (Debbie) Ziemba, Randy (Marilyn) Ziemba, and her best friend and sister Cindy (Bill) Young. Her nephews, Scott Ziemba, Matt Young, and nieces, Jocelyn Plitt, God daughter, Anna Young, Kelsey Cahill, Abbey Loy, and Alyssa Ziemba.

Visitation will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling, WV on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Wheeling, WV on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 10 a.m. with Rev.
