Rev. Robert M. Upton, age 80, of Wheeling, WV peacefully passed away on March 27, 2023 at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV.
Born February 3, 1943 he was the son of the late Robert and Mildred Simms Upton, owners of the former Upton's Gifts in Elm Grove.
After graduating Wooster College and Princeton University, he was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister in 1969. Robert traveled extensively and was the pastor of numerous Presbyterian Churches throughout his life. He taught at the American School in Tehran for several years. He was a dedicated philanthropist and lived a life of service to others.
Robert is survived by his many cousins, numerous dear friends that he considered family, and his adored feline companion, Edgar.
The family would like to thank the staff at Liza's Place for their kind and compassionate care.
At Robert's request there will be no funeral or memorial services. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice (Liza's Place) in Robert's name, or to a local rescue or animal shelter in your community.
