Rev. Roger Jeremiah Rakon, 93, of Valley Grove, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023, at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born in Duquense, PA on June 25, 1929, son of the late George and Mary Andras Rakon.
Roger started his ministry in 1957, the same year he married his loving wife, Sara. He became pastor in February of 1966 at the Valley Grove Assembly of God, where he remained until his death. He lead the way to Jesus with his commitment and his love. It didn't matter who the person was, Roger loved them all.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sara Mae Husk Rakon; one sister, Arlene Johnson; many special friends and a very loving church.
Friends will be received at Valley Grove Assembly of God on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Roger Lee Foster officiating.
Interment will be held at convenience of family in Hart Cemetery, Oxford, WV.
