William James "Jim" Knierim, 85, of Wheeling, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born December 22, 1937 in Wheeling, son of the late Henry and Vesta Mae Little Knierim.
Jim was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of The Experience Church, Bridgeport, OH and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Knierim and three sisters: Katherine Butler, Betty Lou Sohn, and Anna Mae Yoder.
Survivors include three daughters: Tammy (Ted) Davis of Stoneville, NC, Wendy (Matt) McKivitz of Jacobsburg OH, and Peggy Knierim of Springfield, OH; five grandchildren: Ben Davis of Stoneville, NC, Colton (Abby Jay) McKivitz of San Jose, CA, Molly (Darby) Waller of Flushing, OH, Cody Cox of Flushing, OH, and Jessy Cox of Springfield, OH; four great-grandchildren: Jillian Davis, Mallory Cox, Huxley and Livia Waller and one great-great granddaughter, Emma, arriving in August; one sister: Carolyn Whitehouse of Wheeling; one brother-in-law, Donald Yoder of Wheeling and many nieces and nephews including a loving and special niece Debbie Yoder of Wheeling; his very special friend, Pat Seidler of Wheeling and his angel on earth, Larry Barker and his companion Dana of St. Clairsville, OH.
At Jim's request there will be no visitation as he had chosen to donate his body to the WVU Human Gift Registry.
