Lionel Eugene Henry Jr., age 63, of Wheeling, WV and Perry, GA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving siblings and children on May 15, 2023, at Liza's Place Valley Hospice in Wheeling. He was born in Wheeling, WV on July 7, 1959, the son of Lionel Eugene Henry SR and Ruby (Asbury) Henry. Lionel attended Wheeling Park High School and proudly served in the United States Navy.
Lionel started working at Carolina Furniture at 16 then worked on the Barges before starting his dream job, a Semi Truck Driver, for United Van lines. He moved from Wheeling to Georgia in May of 1987 where he worked at Bibb Manufacturing Company for a short time before going to Florida Rock. Lionel continued working his dream job when he started at Davis Oil Company receiving multiple safe driver awards. He worked Long haul for Perdue until he retired while driving Live Haul. Lionel loved traveling and taking his kids on semi rides.
Lionel is survived by his son Brandon (Amanda) Henry of Eatonton, GA, Step-son Matthew (Ellysa) Extine of Knoxville, TN; his daughters Misty Henry Hines of Benwood, WV, Crystal Henry (Jack) Tysinger of Bellaire, Ohio, Ashley (Tony) Frost of Macon, GA, Emma Henry of Manistique, MI, his long time companion and former wife, Suzanne Pichette of Manistique, MI, Sisters Bonnie Wood of Benwood, WV, Connie Henry of Benwood, WV, Paula Henry of Washington, PA and Brother George Henry of Wheeling, WV; 10 grandkids, Dillon, Shannon, Kadynn, Camden, Isabelle, Abigail, Isaac, Alivia, Ellis, and Joslynn; his niece Jill (John) Eden and nephew Evan Wood. Lionel is preceded in death by his parents, and loving nephew Gary Henry.
