MARY JO KOONTZ

Mary Jo Koontz, age 88, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at her home.

She was born December 21, 1934, in Jacksonburg, WV, the daughter of the late Francis Marion and Awilda Alice Hayes Lemasters.

Mary Jo was a member of the Pine Street Church of Christ and was retired from the United States Post Office in New Martinsville, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ralph Koontz in 2021; two sisters, Marian King and Isobell Knisley; and two brothers, Edman Lemasters and Stanley Lemasters.

Survivors include two sons, Dale (Malyndia) Koontz of Middlebourne, WV; and Gary (Tracy) Koontz of New Martinsville, WV; a sister, Carol Wilcox of Columbus, OH; a brother, Merle (Sharon) Lemasters of Paden City, WV; a sister-in-law, Shirley Lemasters of Reno, OH; eight grandchildren, Melinda Koontz of New Martinsville, Erin (Daniel) Cooper of Middlebourne, Andrew (Kelly) Koontz of Wheeling, Crystal Squires of Parkersburg, Tina Lancaster of New Martinsville, Gabriel (Brielle) Koontz of Moundsville, Adam (Rachel) Koontz of Middlebourne and Ethan (Makenzie) Koontz of New Martinsville and nine great-grand children, Jacob Koontz, Emma Cooper, Brantley Squires, Shaleigh Koontz, Scotlyn Koontz, Saige Koontz, Reagan Koontz, Zander Koontz and Griffey Koontz.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private service held at the convenience of the family at Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville, WV.
