Robert Wayne Hoskins passed away peacefully in Easton, MD on May 13, 2023 at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 5, 1940 in Wheeling, WV to Robert W Hoskins and Anna Williams Hoskins.
He graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor's Degree. While there he played trumpet in the marching band and was in the Navy ROTC program.
He taught high school science for two years during which time he married the love of his life, Frances Lewis. They continued to Ohio State U where he earned a MS in Science and started his career with E.I. DuPont.
Years later, he began a 20 year career working for American Cyanamid in NJ. He completed his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson U in NJ and pursued his interests in International Business in Southeast Asia, moving his family to Hong Kong for 4 years where he was Dir. of Agricultural products for the Far East. He continued working for American Cyanamid until 1995 when he worked for FMC Corp as Business Development Dir. in Philadelphia, PA and VP in Princeton NJ. He also studied for and obtained his license as a Certified Financial Planner.
Prior to retirement, Bob enjoyed downhill skiing in Vermont and Colorado and sailing in Hong Kong. He continued sailing the Chesapeake Bay, enjoying membership in the Miles River Yacht Club, golfing, volun- teering at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and at the Waterfowl Festival. Bob was an avid woodcarver of birds and ducks, exhibiting at various shows. For the last 30 years, he sang Classical Liturgical Music with the New Jersey Master Chorale. He is a member of Sts Peter and Paul Church in Easton.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Frances Lewis Hoskins, their two children, Stephanie Kelton (Kevin) and Rob Hoskins, Jr, of New Jersey; 5 grandchildren with whom he shared a special bond, Madison, Robbie C., Joseph, Michael and Maryanne; two brothers, Gary Hoskins of Charleston, WV (formerly of Glen Dale) and Edward Hoskins of Wheeling, WV and many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered with a smile.
Visitation will be at St. Francis Xavier Church in Moundsville, WV on Saturday, May 20th from 10-10:45am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am.
Private Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
