Robert C. Simons, age 89 of Glen Dale, WV died Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV.
He was born November 21, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA; the son of the late William Franklin and Edna Gray Sargent Simons.
He was a retired electrician from AEP Mitchell Power Plant; member of Glen Dale United Methodist Church; collected coins; coached softball; loved gardening and nature.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madelyn L. Simons; a daughter, Lisa Tappe; one grandson, Aidan Dunst; one sister, Barbara Simons Vansickle; and one brother, William Simons.
Survivors include a son, Bobby (Amy) Simons of Wheeling; three daughters, Dana Simons of Glen Dale, Denise (Rob) Kinnick of Mt. Olivet, WV, and Leslie (Rick) Dunst of Canonsburg, PA; seven grandchildren, Robert Tappe, Meaghan Kinnick, Andrew Kinnick, Jessica Kinnick, Lucas Dunst, Olivia Simons, Grant Simons; son-in-law, Jeff Tappe of Wheeling; sister-in-law, Myra Simons of St. Clairsville, OH; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday 5-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville; where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11am.
Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard.
