Sandra Kay "Sandy" Guthrie, age 86, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Moundsville, WV and CA, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at WVU – Wheeling Hospital.
She was born September 20, 1936 in Wheeling, WV daughter of the late John "Mort" and Gail McGlumphy Allison.
Sandy was a retired clerk from Pacific Bell Telephone, a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Wheeling Newcomers, Wheeling Women's Club, Betta Sigma Phi, former member of the Moundsville County Club and enjoyed golf, ballroom dancing and traveling.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: John W. Guthrie; one brother: Robert Allison; one sister: Jean Bush; great granddaughter: Randi Jo and her grandmother, who raised her, Bertie McGlumphy.
Survivors include two daughters: Vicki Ramos of Wheeling, WV and Carol (William) Swinconos of Lubbock, TX; 10 grandchildren: Britten, Cameron, Tyler, Elexa, Peyton, Camille, Madison, Billy, Johnny and David and 13 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00am until time of service at 12 noon at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, WV with Rev. Richard Skaggs officiating.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Calis, WV.
