Willa "Rene" Lorraine Hess, 87, of Steubenville, OH, died Sunday, May 7, 2023.
She was born August 4, 1935, in Hundred, WV, daughter of the late Harry and Pearl Wade Ward.
Rene was a member of the Warwood United Methodist Church and was a Dental Lab Technician for the former Wieldman Dental Lab.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Llewellyn Paul Hess; four brothers, Richard Kenneth Ward, Edward Dale Ward, Robert Lee Ward and Eugene Ralph Ward; and two sisters, Wanda Lucas and Gladys Irene Fatula.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Patrick) McCausland of Mingo Junction, OH; granddaughter, Carissa (Raymond) Burchfield of Toronto, OH; four great grandchildren, Chase DeVault, Jacob DeGarmo, Raymond Burchfield, Jr., and Nevaeh Burchfield; a brother, David Lee Ward; a sister, Carolyn Ann Edge; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 2 PM until the time of service at 5 PM at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV 26003 (304- 242-2311).
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, will be held at the convenience of the family.
