ARTHUR LOY

"TOGETHER AGAIN"

Arthur Donald Loy, also known as "King Pappy" to his loved ones, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2023 at the age of 92 in Moundsville, WV. He was born on July 1, 1930 in Benwood, WV to Walter and Mazie (Jones) Loy. He was a lifelong resident of Benwood, WV. Arthur retired from United Dairy, Inc. and formerly was employed by Garvins Dairy.

Arthur was a devoted member of the First Christian Church in McMechen, WV where he served as an Elder, Co-chair of the board, Choir member, Lay speaker, and was a Good Samaritan. He was a 50-year member of Moundsville Union #8, Chapter 86 of the Eastern Star of Moundsville; Scottish Rite Temple, Valley of Wheeling KCCH; Osiris Temple; and El Tor Grotto.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mazie (Jones) Loy, his loving wife, Angela (Whitlatch) Loy, and his brother, John R. Loy. He is survived by his son, Arthur D. (Jeana) Loy, II of Wheeling, WV; daughter, Deborah (Bill) Barnes of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren, William L. (Katie) Barnes of Fort Mills, SC, Samantha J. (Mark) Mason of Winston Salem, NC, Elaine (Shawn) Donaldson of Wheeling, WV, Paul (Melanie) Hengler of Wheeling, WV; great grandchildren, Logan and Mackenzie Mason; Alexa (Devon) Beaver; Sierra Donaldson; Olivia, Kate & Brody Hengler; Elijah, Miles & Naomi Barnes; and great-great grandchild, Colton Beaver. He is also survived by his nieces, Lavonne (Colin) Chapman, Nan (Mike) Zupancic and nephew, Brian (Sarah) Loy.

Visitation for Arthur will be held on Thursday, June 22 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood/ McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, WV. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, McMechen.

A special thanks to his sisters: Nancy, Tootie, Sandy, Penny, Annie, Brenda, Patty & Francis and to Reverend Rodney (Linda) Hubbs, his "little church" in McMechen, and Marshall Union #8, Moundsville Chapter 86, for their love and support during this difficult time. Arthur will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.
