Caroline Lucille Obermann, 99, of Wheeling, WV, died Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Continuous Care Center.
She was born July 15, 1923, daughter of the late William L. and Drusilla Craig Rhoades.
When she was seven years old, the family moved to Warwood and she continued to live there until the last few years of her life. After World War II, she married Karl Obermann in March 1947 and they were married for 62 years until his death in 2009.
Lucille was a 1941 graduate of Warwood High School, a member for more than 80 years of the former Warwood Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Warwood Civic League. Before having her children, she was employed at the Beech Bottom Plant of Wheeling Steel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; sisters, Geneva Krumme, Pauline Archer and Wilda Moore; brothers-in- law, Ralph Krumme and Russell Archer.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol L. Obermann of Wheeling; son, Mark Obermann and his wife, Carol Teaff, of Weirton; a cousin, Ralph Craig of Wheeling; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM with Rev. Jake Steele officiating at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-277-2722). Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
