Darrell "Lee" Hendershot, 76, of Bridgeport, OH passed away on Friday June 2, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic Hospice Care.
Lee was born June 5, 1946 in Wheeling, WV to the late Wilfred and Elizabeth Petko Hendershot.
Lee was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. A Catholic by faith, he is a member of St. Joseph's Cathedral in Wheeling and a former member of the Corpus Christi Parish in Warwood. He worked as the Vice President of Operations at Cobra Plastics in Twinsburg, OH. He was also a part of the Knights of Columbus-St Clairsville chapter, the Corpus Christi Boosters Club, past President of the Corpus Christi School Board, a member of the Corpus Christi Hall of Fame, a member of the Crossfire Car Club, a member of the Chancellor's Car Club, and was on the Wheeling Stamco Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Chuck & Peg Minch.
Lee is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy "Janie" Minch Hendershot; his son, Kevin (Michelle) Hendershot; his daughters, Brenda (Russell) Gerney, Lesly (David) Hendershot-Amey; 8 grandchildren, Kyle Hendershot, Mikayla Hendershot, Carson Hendershot, Lliam Gerney, Abigail Gerney, Giavonna Amey, Giuliana Amey, and Lorenzo Amey; 3 sisters, Mary K (Frank) Grillo, LuAnn (Mike) Welling, and Marlene Evans.
Friends and family will be received on Monday June 12, 2023 from 2pm-5pm and 6pm-8pm at Kepner Funeral Home 2101 Warwood Ave. Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-277-2722). Mass will be held at 10am on Tuesday June 13, 2023 at Corpus Christi Parish in Warwood.
