Donald Eugene Pletcher, 95, Valley Grove, WV went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 25, 2023 from his home in Valley Grove. He was born February 15, 1928 in Washington, PA, a son of Creed and Ethel (Enos) Pletcher.
His parents, wife of 70 years, Peggy (Montague), sisters, Alice Kester and Martha Carpenter, brothers, Howard and Ronald Pletcher and great- granddaughter, Terra Grace Hicks preceded him in death.
He is survived by daughters, Debbie Calmbacher (Guy Patrick) and Donna Smith (Clyde); grand- children, Carla Lytle, Jason Smith, Kelly Marcellus (Jeff) and Patricia Hicks (Garrett); great grandchildren, Dennis Lytle, Sadie Guynn, Jarek, Kalvin, Kamdin and Fenix Marcellus, Cole Smith and Gage, Gemma and Gentry Hicks; great great grandchildren, Meyko Lytle and Malia Marcellus; sisters, Joan Richard and Suzanne Heater; brother, Creed Pletcher and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was a US Army veteran of WW II. He retired from the trucking industry and was a member of the Rock Hound Club, Turkeyfoot Valley Baptist Church and Ursina American Legion Post 946, all in PA. He enjoyed lightweight boxing, hunting in Pennsylvania, running and walking in 5K races, flea markets, yard sales, trips to Pennsylvania and Florida and spending time with family and his dog, Prince.
At his request, there will be no viewing or funeral service. Interment in Addison Cemetery.
