DR. BILLY APOSTOLON JR.

Dr. Billy Michael Apostolon Jr., age 56, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 23, 2023 in Wheeling, WV surrounded by his family.

He was born in Hinton, WV on February 21, 1967 to the late Margaret (Angell) Apostolon and Dr. Billy Apostolon Sr.

Billy was a 1985 graduate of Hinton High School, where he played football and music. In 2001, Billy graduated from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV. Upon graduating, Dr. Bill practiced medicine throughout the Ohio Valley and other parts of the United States. Since 2018, Dr. Bill had been the Chief Medical Officer/ National Medical Director for Rose Medical Management. Dr. Bill cared deeply about his patients and friends he met along the way.

Billy loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved to help people, woodwork, tinker with projects, shoot guns, man the grill, root for the Mountaineers, go cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field/Acrisure Stadium, and play the guitar.

For the last several years Dr. Bill had been the high school football doctor for the John Marshall Monarchs, road-tripping to many away games with them. He thoroughly enjoyed helping the team with his great friend Brian Smith.

He was a lifetime NRA member, cared about wildlife conservation with the NWTF, and was an organ donor. Even after death, Billy wanted to continue to help others.

Billy was a caring and loving husband, father, Papouli (Greek for grandfather), brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Andrea (Foster) Apostolon; son, Ryan Foster; daughter, Adrienne Ware (Kurt); son, Billy Michael Apostolon III (Courtney); his grandson, the apple of his eye, Blake Ware; sister, Mary Wyrick; sister Sarah Seidler (Dave); father-in-law Thomas Biggs; brother-in-law, Andrew Foster (Marilyn); best friend and brother, Pastor Roy Carter (Jana); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Also surviving him is his beloved boxer, Athena.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from noon until time of service at 3 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling with Pastor Roy L. Carter and Roy B. Carter officiating. Respectfully, the family will not be receiving guests following the service.

Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
