Florence Ellen Harris Evans, 94, was born on July 19, 1928, and passed away on June 19, 2023. She was affectionately known as Grandma Flo to everyone she knew and loved and those numbers are many.
Flo worked for the FBI in her early years in Washington, D.C., but her favorite job was being a homemaker, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Although her family advanced in age every year, Grandma Flo was 39 and holding.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Lee and Lillian Rebecca Wright Harris; her brother, Bobby Lee; her husband, Charles Edgar Evans Jr.; her son, Randee Lee Evans; her lifelong best friend, Mif St. Meyer Tuttle; and her Godson, Terry P. Tuttle.
Flo is survived by her daughter-in-law, Debbie Evans and her children: Erin Leigh Lasch (Bill) and grandchildren, Billy, Tyler, and Ella Lasch; Kelly (Steve) Knollinger and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Wilson (Cody Nash); Megan (Lewis) Honaker and grand- children, Caroline and Nicholas Honaker; Bobby (Summer) Evans and grandchildren, Dylan, Riley, and Connor Evans; Jack (Tyler) Evans Tucky. She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Lynn (Don) Morris and her daughter, Nicole (Todd) Stinard and grandchildren, Carson and Sara Stinard; and son, Chad Shinkarow. She is survived by her son, Mark Lane Evans (Barbara Otte-Fox) and children, Mark Jr. (Jackie) and grandchildren, Cole, Noelle, and Spencer Evans; Ashley (Chuck) Bennett; Daniel and grandchildren, Braxton Evans, Taetym Baller, and Lyle Evans; Landon J. (Kelsey) Gadd and grandchildren, Maison and Mara Gadd. Flo is also survived by her two special nieces, Sandy (Mark) Ritchie and Bobbie Jean (Ron) Didion and their families.
Family and friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
