Neal Elliott Morton, 64, of Wheeling, passed away unexpectedly at home of natural causes on June 5, 2023.
Neal was born in Toledo, OH on September 29, 1958 to Robert Clark Morton and Patricia Howley Morton, who preceded him in death in 2020. He graduated from St. Michael's School and Wheeling Central Catholic High School and briefly attended Fairmont State College before entering the U.S. Air Force. Upon completion of his military service, he settled in Melbourne, Florida where he worked in a variety of computer- related positions. He relocated to Wheeling in 2020.
He is survived by his brother Scott (Penny) Morton (West Palm Beach FL), and sisters Teresa (Eldon) Nyhart (Zionsville, IN) and Deidre (Tom) Pettinga (Aiken, SC). He was uncle to five nephews Ty (Christina) Morton, Wesley Morton, Thomas Pettinga, Jr., Cornelius Pettinga, and Christopher Nyhart, and one great-niece Brooke Morton, all of whom survive. He also leaves behind a host of cousins of whom he was extremely fond.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, with Rev. Fredrick D'Souza as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
