Wilma Estherine (Fornari) Vargo, 92 of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center.
Wilma was born on July 25, 1930, in Wellsburg, WV, a daughter of the late Arthur and Edna (Blankensop) Fornari. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward Sr.; and two sons, Edward Jr., William "Bill", and a son in law, Bob Thomas.
Wilma graduated from Wellsburg High School Class of 1948. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Pi Sorority. Wilma spent her time as a homemaker taking care of her family.
Wilma is survived by three children, Thomas Vargo, John (Linda) Vargo, Kathy Thomas and companion Jay Potter; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Aaron), Eddie, Joey, Heidi (Anthony), Chad, January (Stephen), and Michelle; fifteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; one brother, Arthur (Betty) Fornari; and three nephews, Mike, Chris, and Todd; and many friends whom she stayed in close contact with till the very end.
Visitation for Wilma will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 11:00 am until the time of the Funeral Liturgy of the Word at 1:00 pm with Rev. Fr. Justin Golna officiating at Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037.
Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
