Dennis L. James, 71, of Sarasota, Florida, died July 6, 2023, following a long illness. He was born, raised and educated in Moundsville, WV, a graduate of the inaugural class of John Marshall High School in 1969.
James moved to Sarasota and was a sound engineer for a musical band that traveled throughout the southern states. He had a talent for all manner of machinery and found a vocation in the printing business operating his own company for forty years. He enjoyed piloting his catamaran in the bay surrounding Sarasota and was a certified scuba diver.
His favorite catch phrase was: "It just goes to show you, it's always something!"
He was preceded in death by his parents; Roger W. and Marianne (Coltri) James; and his younger brother, Jonathan A. James.
He is survived by his brother, Thomas O. James, of Moundsville; sister, Susan J. (Kawporn) Sussangkarn, of Chiang Rai, Thailand; half-brother, Roger C. (Jonette) James, of Moundsville; nephews, cousins and many friends.
